Isolation Management, Done Right at Scottish Water

IHF was recently on-site at Scottish Water’s Nigg Waste Water Treatment Works (WWTW) in Aberdeen, working closely with their operational teams to roll out new functionality within our digital permit to work system (IHF SaaS ePtW).

This visit focused on isolations and isolation point registers, critical elements of safe systems of work, especially in environments where mechanical, electrical and process isolations need to be clearly identified, tracked and verified before high-risk work begins.

Getting this right is not just a compliance exercise. Robust isolation management reduces the potential for human error, gives frontline teams confidence that hazards have been properly controlled and creates a clear, auditable record for every stage of the process.

IHF’s Senior Control of Work (CoW) Consultant said:

“It was great to spend time with the Scottish Water team on site, walk through the new functionality together and see it land well in a real operational setting. Feedback like this is invaluable, it helps us keep refining IHF’s digital permit to work system so it works the way people actually need it to, not just how it looks on paper.”
