Dr. Chizaram Nwankwo — IHF Senior Human Factors Consultant — visited the Altera Infrastructure Production office in Trondheim, Norway from the 28th to the 30th of April 2025 to facilitate a targeted training session on the Safety Critical Task Analysis (SCTA) process.
During the training session there was a particular focus on the task screening phase and the subsequent task analysis phase. This engagement forms part of the ongoing support being provided by Integrated Human Factors (IHF) to Altera Infrastructure Production teams in relation to their procedure improvement and task analysis initiatives.
This ultimately led to strategies being developed to ensure post-training procedural consistency and agreement on reinforcing procedural best practices in line with Energy Institute (EI), Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Human Performance Oil & Gas (HPOG) and International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) guidelines. Commenting on the training overall, Dr. Nwankwo stated:
“The visit to Trondheim was productive and engaging, enabling both knowledge transfer and collaborative alignment on key human factors and procedural formatting issues. Thank you to the Altera Infrastructure Production team for their hospitality and active participation.”
