IHF works with healthcare trusts and boards to craft Human Factors awareness training for staff at all levels, from board to ward. We also consult and design interventions for a variety of concerns including staff morale, patient journey mapping, ward lay-out and optimisation, fatigue management and communication. Our goal is to support a cycle of continuous improvement that tackles problem areas proactively, addressing both patient safety and healthcare worker well-being.
Training for healthcare management:
IHF training for healthcare management is typically a one-day taster session to introduce key Human Factors concepts, followed by a 3 or 5 day course to address, depending on class size:
- Teamwork and Morale
Our courses are customisable and can include eLearning modules for a quick start to putting Human Factors awareness in front of key stakeholders.
The courses are highly interactive and rely heavily on experiential learning. Upon completion, participants will be awarded IHF's Human Factors For Healthcare Management certification.
Training for nurses and other staff:
IHF training for nurses begins with a three-day introduction to Human Factors, covering what they are and how they can impact on both patient and practitioner well-being.
- Situational awareness
- Decision-making and judgment
- Fatigue and Stress Management
The course is highly interactive and relies heavily on experiential learning. Upon completion, participants will be awarded IHF's Human Factors For Nursing certification.
